Genesis' classic The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway era lineup reunited on October 2nd to attend the red carpet premiere of Genesis: Together and Apart, a BBC documentary that focuses on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame prog-turned-pop rock band's history. The film also ventures into the solo careers of Genesis' Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks and Steve Hackett, but the latter is apparently unhappy about the amount of screen time his work garnered, Ultimate Classic Rock reports. The guitarist, who departed Genesis in 1977, aired his grievances about the otherwise well-received documentary.

"It's certainly a biased account of Genesis history and totally ignores my solo work. It does not deliver the theme of Together and Apart. In interview I spoke at length as much about my solo career as my time in Genesis, but was not given any editorial involvement," Hackett wrote on his Facebook page. "Whilst the documentary's sister project, the R-KIVE box set represents us all equally, the documentary does the opposite. I know the documentary will soon be on sale via various outlets, but I won't be selling this via my own website."

Together and Apart was broadcast earlier this month on the BBC, and the documentary will premiere in the U.S. under the title of Genesis: Sum of the Parts on Showtime on October 10th. A DVD release is scheduled for November 18th. The R-Kive compilation that Hackett refers to is a three-disc set which includes Genesis' best plus three tracks from each member's solo discography.

As Rolling Stone previously reported, the five members of Genesis were interviewed together earlier this year for the film. "It was emotional," guitarist Rutherford told Rolling Stone. "But I also realized that nobody has changed. Peter and Tony still have a nice sort-of interplay. Phil was the joker, just like always." Rutherford also revealed that while a Genesis reunion with Gabriel isn't likely at the moment, Collins – who recently announced a retirement-ending benefit gig – might be more amenable to rejoining his Duke mates. Collins recently revealed that his December 6th performance at the Little Dreams Foundation Gala in Miami, Florida will only consist of "three or four songs semi-acoustically" since he is "not ready to return to the full concert stage at this time."
