News that Taylor Swift is being considered for the role of 1960s protest music icon Joni Mitchell highlights the fact that when it comes to biopics about female pop music stars, there is still a pretty high glass ceiling in place. The high heels of male hair band members completely unworthy of the biopic treatment are pounding on that glass ceiling high over the heads of far more deserving talents who don't happen to have needed to stuff a salami down their spandex pants to draw attention away from their lack of talent. Okay, admittedly most of the biopics of male pop stars have been about those whose talent did not begin and end with being able to toss their long mane in rhythm to the cacophonous pounding of high decibel headache-inducing noise.
