Artist Information
Storm Garner and Jonathan Vincent met in May 2006 at a Milton Babbit concert at the Cutting Room in New York and found themselves one week later playing Storm's songs (with Jonathan accompanying Storm's singing at the piano) at a bar in the Lower East Side. They had so much fun that they decided to keep working together. Both musicians feel a little out of their element in "indie"-"popular" music, but perhaps that's the fun of it: Storm started playing violin at age three, Jonathan the piano at five. Both studied at the New England Conservatory at some point. Both have resisted genre or even instrumental specialization in music, preferring to always keep their ears, fingers and hearts open to anything. They have performed and/or composed for Off-Broadway theater (Storm most recently for La Mama, in the East Village), played and/or composed all sorts of music bearing the label "avant-garde" (mainly within the realms of classical and jazz,) but they also listen to, enjoy and sometimes play folk, regional/traditional music (especially Balkan and Japanese), punk, rock, cabaret, baroque, free-improv, etc, etc.:::::::: Both Storm and Jonathan are inexcusably happy people, prone to dancing in the streets. Eat raw, locally and organically grown living foods, and you will also be dancing in the streets!
