Born and raised in Miami Florida, I have been playing music for about 15 years. As a child, I would always hum along to songs on the radio, no matter the style. It was a way for me to keep myself entertained when I wasn't drawing in my sketchbook. In Middle-School, I joined the school drumline. Percussion and Rhythm would be my primary studies throughout middle school, and onto high-school.
I then started struming around with my fathers Fender Strattocaster, growing a new taste for melody and chord structure, and began listening to artists such as Led Zeppelin, Yes, Santana, Bob Marley, Steve Vai, U2, Sting, Eric Clapton, and many others of different flavor and style. I picked up the bass guitar for a few years studying the legends such as Les Claypool(Primus), Flea(RHCP), Geddy Lee(Rush),and Steve Harris(Iron Maiden). I then began to focus on improving his vocal abilities shortly thereafter, being influenced by Robert Plant, Steve Perry, Freddy Mercury, Chris Cornell, Jeff Buckley, Eddie Vedder, and Jimmy Gnecco to name a few. I have played in several bands such as Delirious Feelings, Baklash, Synapsys, Sonic Vision, Candy Cane Vein, and Against The Echo. I have performed with local musicians such as Jaime Cardona, Alex Perez, Rob, James Martin, Andre Abreu, Tarek Abdell, Raul Ramirez, Rene Ogando, Angelo Caruso, Ronny G, Alex Introini, Max Introini, Horby Lopez, and Omar Garcia.
In December of '05, I met with Jimi Cardona (owner of Music a la Carte recording studios), and was offered a spot to sing on TV commercials for Ford which would air throughout the following five months. Aside from playing cover shows at bars, clubs, and local coffee houses, I began focusing mostly on learning recording techniques and building my home studio for the recording my debut album titled "GYPSY PHANTASM".
After finishing the recording of GYPSY PHANTASM in August of '06, I decided to form a full band called "The ROLY O TRIO" to kind of crank things up a bit, and we're currently rehearsing and looking forward to start performing as early as January of "07. In addition to recording, and rehearsing my own tunes and performing shows, I decided to do something in attempt to shed a positive light on the Miami rock scene. I took all of our frustrations and complaints about there not being any places to play in Miami and how rock music is an endangered species in our city, and created a myspace profile known as "The VOICE of the VOICELESS" (myspace.com/unifythesound)
