Produced by - Jon Kaplan (Lola Ray, The Damwells, The English Department, Gavin DeGraw), the new album will be released in November 2006 and tells the story of love, life, and loss on Rob's long road from Hawaii "back to the real world."
BIO
"I feel blessed to have experienced so much music in my life with such a diverse group of people that have taught me so much. I hope this never changes."
This statement sums up the music and winding musical career of Rob Holzer which has led him to the 2006 release of "The Heart of our Lives", Rob's second solo album.
Rob is a singer/songwriter born and bred in New York. He plays piano and guitar and can play and sing just about any song you can throw his way. He has fronted and played in numerous bands over the course of his professional career. His original music has been featured in a number of films and commerical projects.
After college and a stint living in Florence, Italy where he met his love, Monica, the two of them moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and throughout five years in "paradise", Rob played and toured Hawaii with such critically acclaimed artists as Grammy award-winning musician John Cruz, Ka'au Crater Boys, Willy K, Fiji, Rocky Brown, Bob Jones, and Scott Williams, among many others.
Rob moved back to New York City in the late '90's and formed RUDY - a sprawling 10-piece R&B original R&B/funk band that played extensively, with regular engagements at the city's best spots. It featured Rob's original music and some of NYC's best performers. The band garnered critical acclaim and a large following, but was a management nightmare for Rob so he disbanded the group in 2001. He turned his attention to his songwriting as well as focusing on his growing successful integrated brand design agency, Syrup (www.syrupnyc.com) which he founded with partner Jakob Daschek in 1998. Music and design are Rob's Yin and Yang and as he continues his dual life, he's always aware that time is short in the heart of our lives.
