Artist Information | | |
Phace co-founder of the Dark Force Squadron. Originally from Newark , New Jersey. Creating essential hip-hop music now confused amongst today's typical artists , this hip-hop enthusiast delivers nothing short of great hip-hop music. Currently, Phace is completing his second album entitled “Flowzart” while performing on road shows. Phace is off to a promising start, he shows no signs of slowing down. During this time he is also hard at work contributing guest appearances on several other projects including his Dark Force Family. Though his main concern is his own album, Phace is never too busy to collaborate with other artists. The Dark Force Squadron was created in 1999. Once a massive squad, now cut down to 6 active members. Phace is one of the original co-founders of the Dark Force Squadron. The Dark Force Squadron consists of : Agonyze, Argentum, Chamber, Scoob-Ru, Tru-mentillz and himself. As a unit they move with the strength and knowledge of each others capabilities to represent as one element. With each member being a leader they recognize they will be no followers and treat each others as equals. With each individual member having something unique to offer to the table in his own way, they understand their can not be any losses. Therefore, their offering is nothing less short of quality. Dark Force lives by their personal quote “Go Hard or Go Home!”. Phace’s work ethic is undoubtably relentless. In 2002 he released and executively produced his first solo album independently entitled “ P.h.a.c.e.l.e.s.s”. With 18 original tracks and production Phace pressed up 2,000 copies. Phace then went on to purchase his own studio which he shares with the group to progress in their musical careers, which motivated him to record many more songs without the pressure of paying for studio time. In 2003, Phace and the Dark Force Squad appeared on 90.3 underground science, A Montclair State University radio station. In 2004, Phace was featured in an independent movie “The Place To Be” filmed by Gee Rock of Force One Productions. In 2005, Phace was featured on the legendary Colombia University radio station 89.9 f.m. , where many legendary emcees had made their first appearances including : The Notorious Big, Wu-Tang Clan, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def and many others. The Dark Force Squad promo and Phace’s 2 songs “All My Heart” and “Round My Way” stood in rotation for 3 months from March to May. Phace has participated in many showcases and battles, some venues include: Newark Symphony Hall, 8 Park Street Studios in Montclair , New Jersey, Club Pyramid in N.Y.C. , Club Don Hills in N.Y.C. , as well as private parties and family occasions. He has also guest appearanced on other albums Tru-mentillz, Rob Ski and other collegues. He’s also been on mixtapes most notably D.C.’s Mixtape Don D.J. Grand and D.J. Proe’s mixtape entittled “From My Hood To Yours”. Phace has also appeared on many mixtapes and “street” d.v.d.’s documentaries (Latino Power d.v.d. , Lawless, Underground Royalty.) discussing hip-hop in it’s current state, also displaying his talents and skills with his witty wordplay for the listeners and viewers of these products Phace has a career plan of surfacing original, official hip-hop music back to consumer of the usual hip-hop marketplace. With his true dedication and terms of reality Phace strives to reach out to his listeners and supporters to display the true form of emceeing. He is not looking for fame but exposure to be properly recognized as an important figure in hip-hop. Phace is a very open-minded individual who tries to reach out to his listeners by writing on a variety of topics. He feels it is right to preserve the true essence of hip-hop which he has adapted into his everyday lifestyle which he is deeply rooted. His new album “Flowzart” is a complete transformation from his first solo album “P.H.A.C.E.L.E.S.S.”. You can hear the growth and potential of this young gifted emcee. He is hoping that his new album is all that it takes to sway the average listeners who are used to your stereotypical hip-hop away from the recent depletion of the culture. In conclusion Phace will continue to work hard on his goals in hip-hop and complete his new album “Flowzart” , while performing on the road to start a buzz for himself. He is looking to release his second full album sometime in the near future, for he is already 3/4 done with his album. The album is to feature not only his Dark Force family, but upcoming producers such as, Chamber, Tru-mentillz, Special, Self, as well. Phace alone is a force to be reckoned with , if he is in your presence, sit back and enjoy the show.
