With the discovery of their own talent as far back as the late 90’s, Matt Eskra, Jacob Mather and Joe Navas, now all members of ESCRO, are motivated to make an impact, not only on today’s hip-hop music community, but pop culture itself.
Before hitting the scene in 2000, Joe and Matt started small by entering school talent shows. With unparalleled positive feedback from fans and musicians alike, they began to envision themselves taking Lincoln, Nebraska’s hip-hop community to a place they had never been. With dedication and intensity, ESCRO began establishing a recognizable name for them, while breaking the barriers of stereotypical hip-hop. This was the beginning of something much bigger.
ESCRO released their first album in the fall of 2001, entitled “The Beginning,” which brought ESCRO to new heights. Despite being seen as “country boys,” ESCRO used their uniqueness as an advantage and began setting themselves apart from local competition. After releasing two more records, “Time to Take the World,” in 2002, and, “The Next Chapter,” in 2003, Matt and Joe discovered a local lyrical genius, Jacob, who had been making noise with his exceptionally fast flow. This dimension added the final piece of the puzzle ESCRO had been missing.
With Jacob’s tongue-twisting spitfire, Matt’s perfectly timed punch lines, and Joe’s lyrical wizardry, ESCRO has three co-pilots that can take them to unequaled heights. And apparently there are others that have great confidence in ESCRO.
Early in 2006, Mikey Bo and Bluri Records took notice to the influence ESCRO was having on hip-hop in Lincoln and approached the group. While staying true to their fans and themselves, ESCRO decided to join the Bluri Records team. By combining hip-hop, pop, and R&B ESCRO is one the most unique hip- hop groups in the industry. Now with the help of E. Thomas Management and Bluri Records, ESCRO is determined to break through the hip-hop clutter and work their way to the top of today’s music industry.
