Having been born into a highly musical family, music was always high Alaric's agenda. Brought up on a staple diet of everything from the Beatles to Beethoven Alaric received a fantastic grounding in many forms of music. Wanting to get involved himself he took up classical violin at the tender age of 7 and didn't stop for 10 years (for which he thanks his mum!!), doing the full on grades, chamber+symphony orchestras, tours, concerts etc which all gave him a real taste for performing live and all it's accompanying pleasures! After deciding he wanted to follow a more contemporary path he taught himself guitar from the age of 17 and joined his first *ROCK* band in uni, YEAAAH! For 2 years he played violin, back up guitar and sang backing vocals in a 6 piece called Othello, gaining valuable experience of most of London's big gig venues, as well as a possible glimpse of the big time, playing a show case for Atlantic Records and performing on the stage at Brixton Academy for an Asian TV music programme. Realising that his calling was much more to be the front man though, he left Othello and co-founded his own band, Soulcord. Writing songs, singing lead vocals and rhythm guitar was much more up his street and for four fun packed years the Soulcord train chugged around the whole of the London circuit, whistling as they went, produced 3 EPs, and generally having a whale of a time. But as with all good things Soulcord (R.I.P.) came to an end, all of its members realising it wasn't allowing them to realise their true musical potential. And that ladies and gentleman is where Alaric has finally arrived. After 19 years of playing live in a myriad of different venues and bands he is finally writing the music which is truly expressive of his sensitive and beautiful vocals, as well as expressing an insight into his true emotions and experiences, but the best is yet to come!! Not having been on the solo road for much longer than a year he has already written many songs, gigged extensively and will be playing at venues in and around San Francisco any day now.
