Once upon a time a couple guys from Myspace got together and started a band, and they called themselves Something For Nothing. Hailing from West Warwick RI, Something For Nothing is a Hardcore/Screamo band with JD on vocals, Tyler on guitar/vocals, Travis on guitar, Ryan on bass, and Steve on Drums. This 5 piece act started in May 2006.Discovering that they work well together, they were quick to begin writing songs, banging out one by one in a very short period of time. Usually, after practice, a few of the band members would stop off at McDonalds and grab some chicken sandwiches.
Eventually signing up and participating in a Battle of the Bands in September, their fans defiently didn't let them down. Although their competition was tough, their fans pulled through and Something For Nothing won the battle of the bands. Although this was their first show, they definetly showed up and looked like professionals on stage.
Something for Nothing isn't trying to change the face of music as we know it. They are just a group of guys that like their music loud and hard, and play from their hearts (their music does have a slightly different feel to it than most hardcore or screamo bands, but not done intentionally). Keep on the lookout for these stars on the rise.
