For over twelve years the members of Shelter with Thieves have been engulfed in various musical endeavors. Everything from record and show promotions, national and international booking, tour management and… playing in bands… of coarse. They have collectively shared the bill with a diverse list of top notch artists including, The Mighty Mighty Bostones, Sum 41, Treble Charger, Matt Good, Our Lady Peace, Big Sugar, Sloan, H20, gob, Finger Eleven, The Guess Who, Fishbone and Slayer to name a few. Shelter with Thieves feel most at ease amongst a large crowd.
In the dead of an East Coast winter they joined forces with Juno winner, gold record producer Laurence Currie. The goal: to make a big, dark and dirty rock record. Their eagerness to step away from the norm and create something new seemed to work, and work well. They proved this with the release of “Shadows of Influence” late at night, June 23/05.
To compliment the music, the band prepares to shoot a video for the first single “Valley of the Gun”-part 2 of a 2 part series. Radio tracking and publicity are in negotiations as well as licensing opportunities with songs on upcoming video games, movies and television including MTV Road Rules and The Real World
Record stores to road wars, they are a band that has experienced many side of music and all that tends to come with it, at the same time maintaining the utmost desire to simply plug in, turn up, and rock With an overwhelming response to the live show, the band is set in motion on a cross Canada tour with showcasing is the USA as well as over seas.
There’s a pretty good chance this is only the first time you’ve heard of Shelter with Thieves, the second time, however …they’re coming for your F$#&ing children.
