Artist Information
First of all I would first like to stop and thank the true pioneers of hip hop. Rakim, KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, The Sugar Hill Gang etc.The name Deamsta was a childhood nickname that my brother gave me. Lim(leem) is part of my first name which is Alim(ahleem). It all started when I was very young back in the early 90's. My favorite rapper during that time was Tupac Shakur. I was a huge fan of west cost rap. Rappers like Spice 1, Eazy E, D.O.C, Dre and many others influenced me. After the death of Biggie and Pac I stopped listening to hip hop music. I started listening to it again during the time when Nas and Jay Z started battling each other. I was and I still am a big fan of both of these mcs. After that I became a huge fan of east coast hip hop. My favorite rappers as of today are Nas, Canibus, Rakim, Guru of Gangstarr, Gza, AZ, Jay Z, The Roots, and many others. Well SJ was rapping first. I didnt start rapping until my sophmore year in high school. We connected in a art class and started rapping together. We've known each other since jr high. When SJ found out I could rap we started exchanging numbers and started rapping over the phone. We both were influenced by artists like Rakim, Nas, Jay Z, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, etc. We are both from Saint Louis and we rep it to the fullest. The type of style we bring has never before came out of Saint Louis. Our style of lyricism is similar to that of New York's emcees but still original. Right now we're making moves and coming up with ideas of how we could make it in the music industry, and some day start our own label.
