Brand New Hat is a 4-man band from Springhill, Nova Scotia. BNH features Keith McFadden singing lead vocals and playing lead guitar. Dan Lovely is on the piano/synth/guitar/vocals; Jared Brown is on the bass and vocals; and none other than the legendary Chris Cormier is beating the drums.
The sound itself results from a variety of influences with classic rock roots, a heavy dose of the blues, as well as techno, danceable jams and traces of other styles snaking through it for good measure.
The band has only recently come together. In fact it began in June 2007 after the demise of Keith and Jared's band, The Grate Illusion. So they joined forces with a couple of McKenzie Music Technology graduates from the same little town and formed The Hat. Extremely pleased with the results, the band began its journey and they are now on their way to releasing their debut EP in late 2007 early 2008
