Artist Information
About 7th Turning Hour 7th Turning Hour started as 4-piece alternative rock band early in 2002. The original line-up consisted of Jason Abbitt on vocals, John Combs on guitar, Alex Lockwood on bass guitar, and Alex Villarroel on drums. Only sophomores in high school at the time, the young and eager band persistently worked their way up the local scene ladder by competing in various high school events and battle of the bands competitions. In 2003 they released their first self-produced 6 track EP. In early 2004 Victor Rives became the second guitarist for the band. With the addition of Rives their musical energy increased dramatically, implicating double-lead guitar solos along with melodic riffs and bass lines that transformed the band into a completely separate post-hardcore entity. In November of 2004 they recorded a second 6 track EP. Over the course of the next year and a half they performed at several venues in the Bay Area. In early 2006 Villarroel quit the band due to musical and personal differences – forcing the band to turn all booked shows at the time into acoustic gigs. After several acoustic shows, the band tried out drummer Aaron Winter who recently joined the band. With high hopes for the future, 7th Turning Hour is confident their musical progression is heading in the right direction, and they are excited about the new material they have written and continue to write. They have plans to record and are going to release another EP in February 2007.
